Latvian enterprises participated in joint VIALatvia stand at the international exhibition “Transport and Logistics 2019” from 1-3 October in Minsk, Belarus.
This year marks the 13th time that the exhibition was held in Minsk and Latvian companies have participated in it from the start, proving close cooperation possibilities between Latvia and Belarus in sphere of transport. This year more than 70 companies from 11 countries offered their services at the exhibition.
Minister of Transport Talis Linkaits attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech where he emphasized that for the second year in a row Latvian companies are engaging in the event under a unified industry logotype – VIALatvia.
This year more than 20 companies were represented at VIALatvia stand: Freeport of Riga, Port of Ventspils and Liepaja SEZ, Latvian Railway, LDz Logistics, LDz Cargo, LDz RSS, Riga International Airport, AGHandling Ltd., Riga Universal Terminal, Jaunzeltiņi , Riga Container Terminal, Riga Central Terminal, Baltic Container Terminal, WT Terminal, Frigo Baltic, PB Terminal, Noord Natie Vantspils Terminals, Sigis, Vervo as well as Baltic Transit and Logistics Association and Latvian Authorised Automobile Dealers Association and Latvian Association of freight forwarders and logistics LAFF and others.
On September 30th, a Latvian-Belarusian working group on transport, founded in the framework of of Belarusian - Latvian Intergovernmental Commission on economic, scientific and technical cooperation, took place in Minsk, where from Latvian side meeting was led by Ministries’ of Transport State Secretary Deputy, Uldis Reimanis. After the session Latvian and Belarusian entrepreneurs participated in round table discussion. During the meeting, sides recognized that prospects for cooperation are transit and logistics services, road transport, railway and aviation. As well as on October 2nd a Latvian - Belarusian Intergovernmental Commission on economic, scientific and technical cooperation also was held in Minsk.
