Rail Baltica is European standard width rail transport Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) North Sea-Baltic Corridor transport system element – new, fast, electrified, a two-way railway line equipped with the European Rail Traffic Management System from Tallinn to Lithuanian - Polish boarder through Pernava, Riga, Panevezys and Kaunas with connection Kaunas-Vilnius.

Rail Baltica global project includes five European Union countries - Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and indirectly Finland, with a connection to Tallinn - Helsinki in the future.

The new railway line will have a track gauge of 1435 mm, which fully consists with the technical specifications for interoperability.

Maximum speed: 249 km/h for passenger carriage and 120 km/h for cargo.

Rail Baltica will create currently missing cross-border connections and promote the integration of different modes of transport and connection of transport networks, ensuring intramodality and multimodality.
