Customs Control – Status of Goods Customs

Under EU Custom’s legislation, all goods that exist in the EU territory, as well as those to be transferred across the EU customs territory, are divided in two categories, depending on the customs status:
•    union goods, or also
•    non-union goods.
Union goods are goods in free circulation in the EU customs territory, but non-union goods are all other goods in the EU customs territory and outside it, and that do not have the status of Union goods. It is allowed to transfer Union goods in the EU customs territory without the customs control, but non-union goods can be transferred only by applying customs procedures to them.
If transferring the goods across the customs border the certification of Union goods status is not provided to customs institutions, respective goods are deemed as non-union goods, - they are covered by customs control and applied with EU import duties by established procedure.
